IOM Tuesday Annual H’cap series #7 results

Hi Skippers,
A really nice afternoon of IOM sailing for the 12 skippers with blue sky and sunshine. The breeze hovered from 3 – 5 knots from the SE and East so all skippers had to be on their toes.
We had 2 guest skippers joining us for the afternoon:
Ben Harvey #63 and Michael Bourke #01 Thanks for sailing and being a part of the afternoon. I have encouraged both to join the SCRSC so their score count in the IOM fleet.
John Halloran #83 took and early lead and hung on to win the day ahead of myself and wait for it DAN SILK #07 !!! Well done Dan !!!!!!!!
Thanks to Kim Mitchell for again scoring the afternoon and running the start box. I like the fact that his wife plays bridge and he is free. Much appreciated !!

Congrats to the place getters:
1st John Halloran #83 24 points
2nd Simon Kellett #141 26 points
3rd Dan Silk #07 28 points

Thanks to all for the team pack up. All 5 buoybots worked perfectly and are safe in the trailer.

See you all on Saturday for Meter Cup H’cap and Scratch racing.
Happy sailing,
Simon Kellett

DF65 Club Handicap Championships Rd 6 – Tuesday 4th August.

Hi Skippers
A beautiful sunny day, blue skies & the lake looking very picturesque – light breeze ranging from 0 knots to 3 knots and fluctuating from Westerly to SW to SE to NE … 12 boats on the water – only got in 9 races but reasonably enjoyable !

Highlight of the Day : was consistency ! Well done to Tug Boat Phil #239 for winning the morning with 3 race wins & 7 races out of 9 in the top 3. Then Michael #45 3 points behind & Kim #42 with no wins but only one bad race coming 3rd.
We welcomed back Dave Woodmore #38 who had a day off to come sailing – work is overrated & gets in the way of hobbies !

Next Session : Saturday 8th August : DF65 Revolution Cup – 5 scratch/5 Handicap races. Check to see where you stand in this Series : https://www.sailscores.com/SCRSC/2026/2026-df65-revolution-cup-hybrid.

DF65 Qld State Championships : being hosted by Paradise RYC at Emerald Lakes this coming weekend 8th/9th August. An amazing 51 entries including 4 from SCRSC – Mark Burdon, Craig Wiley, Tony Silver & Nick Taylor. We wish you all a successful regatta – have fun ! Happy to give you all average points for our Saturday racing provided you come in the top 10 !!
Have a great week
Cheers
Mark
