DF65 Scratch day – Tuesday 31 March

Hi Skippers
An interesting & entertaining morning especially for those of us watching / scoring …not so much for the 8 skippers who raced with an increasing S to SE breeze that had 25 degree shifts & a decent chop making tacking difficult. All started on A+ rigs but everyone changed to A rigs after three races except for Tugboat Phil who went to his B rig – really paid off in the later races with 4 straight wins as the rest of the fleet struggled to tack & remain upright !

Highlight of the Day was the closeness of todays racing – half way through the morning we had the top 5 boats within one point of each other – then the wind increased such that B rig was the order of the day & Phil Gray #239 won the last 4 races giving him the overall win . Interesting that we had 6 different race winners including Robert Hunter #792 with 2 wins.

Next Session : Easter Saturday 4th March
Have a great Easter break – hope to see you Saturday morning.
Cheers
Mark
