DF65 Scratch Racing – Tuesday 28th Feb

Hi Skippers
11 DF65’s on the water this morning enjoying the drastic change of weather from rain & high winds of the past couple of days to glorious sunshine, blue skies & 8 to 13 knots. All skippers except one chose B rigs. We rarely get to sail in B rig conditions so today was good practice.

Highlight of the day : Some interesting performances including Brian Wiley #408 with 3 race wins giving him 2nd Overall. Mark Burdon #275 with a 1st, 2 x 2nds & a 3rd giving him a credible 3rd overall & Brem Hill #496 3 x 2nds giving him 6th overall. Well sailed guys 🙂

On the other side of the coin we had too many bingles such that I have decided to re-introduce 720 degree turns in lieu of the usual 360s. This will continue until we have less issues on the water – these instances are spoiling skippers enjoyment of our sport & I for one have had enough of it. I would also suggest we all read rule 44.1 E4.3 as this season we haven’t been adhering to it.

Thanks to Brian Wiley for working the Buoybots, to Richard Brady for scoring the morning in a legible manner & to Craig Wiley or work on BB#2 . Appreciate the support.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Cheers
Mark
