Hi Skippers,
We were greeted today with our first SW winds for quite a while. It was 3 -5 knots but it made for very close and tight sailing. The 11 skippers were challenged by trying to pick the lifts and knocks correctly.
After Heat 5 the wind swung to the SE so a quick course change had to be done. It stayed SE around 3-5 knots or the rest of the afternoon. Again very close racing.
Winning the day was Greg McGill #62 finishing consistently high for all of the 10 heats. Well done!! 2nd was Derick Warne #97. His heat 9 was a master class in sailing in the conditions starting on 70 sec H’cap at the back of the fleet and managing to win that heat line honors. WOW!!
Congrats to the place getters:
1st Greg McGill #62 21 points
2nd Derick Warne #97 22 points
3rd Simon Kellett #141 33 points

All 6 buoybots were used and they worked well. Thanks Craig and Mark.
A great afternoon on the water.
Thanks to those who helped pack up to buoybots and gear.
See you all on Saturday for Club Champs H’cap sailing.
Happy sailing,
