Hi Skippers,
The sun was out and the NE wind was sitting around 3 – 5 knots so a light wind day for the 10 skippers for the afternoon.
We were sailing into the “death corner ” but at least there was wind and it kept us all on our toes picking the lifts and knocks.
We had round 3 in our annual H’cap series and each heat winner earned an Easter Egg for their win. Some loved the sugar high and others found it made their next races suffer.
Weed was the biggest issue for the afternoon with Garry McMahon was captain weed as he picked up the most. Tony Silver wasn’t sailing but he had weed issues as well. The buoybots also suffered with three of them needing attention with weed in one of their motors.
Most skippers were bringing their yachts to the shore to check for weed during the pre start of each race.
Dan Silk #07 had his first heat win and showed great improvement throughout the afternoon. He was so excited about winning and egg I thought he was going to have a heart attack jumping in the air.
Being consistent was key and John McAulay #194, Dave C-Dobing #12 and myself #141 fort it out right to the last heat.
The final points were so close with 4 skippers ending tied on equal points.
Congrats to the place getters;
1st Simon Kellett #141 27 points
2nd John McAulay #194 29 points
3rs David C-Dobing #12 31 points

Thanks to all who helped pack up the rescue boat and buoybots. It is quite an effort when the rescue boat is used as well as the buoybots.
Thanks to Tony Silver for taking the trailer home.
A fun afternoon for all.!!
See you all on Saturday for Meter Cup Scratch / H’cap sailing.
Happy sailing,
Simon K
