Hi Skippers,
The wind was looking like a game of spin the bottle when we arrived at the lake but 15 mins before the start a NE breeze kicked in around 10 knots and it ended up a nice afternoon of sailing. The 9 skippers had a mixture of 5 scratch races and 5 H’cap races so everyone had a chance to shine.
Graham Sargent # 47 had to retire after race 3 with 2 broken side stays and I had to rescue my yacht in the dinghy after race 8 when the forestay broke but thanks to the fleet I was back in action for the next race. It was close sailing all afternoon.
We had the first 3 way tie for 1st place with Jason McAulay #161, Simon Kellett #58 and Derick Warne #97 all finishing on 21points.
The tie was broken with the amount of 1st place. 2nd place and 3rd place finishes.
Gosh it doesn’t get and closer. John Halloran #83 who finished 4th was only 1 point away.
Congrats to the place getters:
1st Jason McAulay #161 21 points
2nd Simon Kellett #58 21 points
3rd Derick Warne #97 21 points

Thanks to all !! Thanks to Derick for taking the trailer to Tony’s house
Thanks to those who helped pack up the dinghy and buoybots. Much appreciated!

Happy sailing,
