What an awesome day for our club and also radio sailing. Working in conjunction with the Kawana Island Residents Association (KIRA) we conducted a promo day for both IOM and Laser sailing holding our Laser Challenge event at Double Bay. There was the club IOM on display along with more contemporary IOMs for the large crowd to enjoy. Quite a number of people showed interest in our club and radio sailing and took our new club brochures with some trying their hand at radio sailing. It was awesome racing with a live band playing really cool jazz and groove music just behind us. Many thanks to them too for promoting our sailing. KIRA provided a free sausage sizzle and drinks to everyone as well. Full marks to Greg Nugent the KIRA committee for a wonderful job of bringing the community together! It was great too to meet Joe Natoli the Councillor for the area who gave us some great advice to assist us in acquiring a pontoon for our sailing at Lake Kawana. Jarrod Bleije our local member of parliament was also very supportive and is generously going to provide us with a new sign written marquee. Well done to both our local and state government representatives!!!The largest thanks go to the host of club members who came and worked so hard to set up and pull down the whole enterprise!! True club spirit of the highest calibre!! Special thanks to Neil for organizing the event with KIRA and to John H for always being there!!!Well done to all!RossPS The outboard decided to have the day off hence the lads paddling!! Much amusement and entertainment for the crowd!!!!!
