Hi Skippers,
It was a very enjoyable afternoon of IOM sailing for the 5 skippers competing in scratch racing Club Champs #2.
The wind was a consistent 5-8 knots from the SE so we used the floating buoys except for the top mark with was a buoybot so we could alter the first windward leg.
A huge welcome to Dan Silk sailing his new IOM #07. The yacht had good speed.
Being scratch racing we could sail back to back heats which kept the afternoon flowing. It was a welcome change to the H’cap racing we have done.
It was close racing between the skippers and one mistake proved very costly.
Congrats to the place getters:
1st Simon Kellett #58 12 points
2nd Bill Heritage #59 15 points
3rd Garry McMahon #57 16 points
4th John Halloran #83 29 points
5th Dan Silk #07 36 points

Tony Silver turned up with his bus and scored a few heats. Pity you couldn’t put your IOM in the cargo hold.
It was a really nice afternoon with the clear skys and sun.
See you all next Tuesday for H’cap Club Champs sailing.
Happy sailing,
Simon Kellett
