Hi Skippers,
After 2 days of rain it was good to see the blue sky once again. The SE to East wind was reaching 20knots on the gusts and 10 knots in the lulls so the sailors all were on their B rigs.
6 skippers were in the carpark at the start of sailing with a few away.
Garry McMahon turned up with yacht and no battery. Tony Silver’s spare battery was only at 40% so he couldn’t use that . Rob Priest decided to score the afternoon and work the start box so we then ended up with 4 sailing.
3 scratch races were held and then 3 h’cap races. After the 6th race Paul Golding brought his yacht out of the water and a gust of wind flipped the boat out of his hand and when it hit the ground the lead bulb on the keel broke off the fin.
That was the end of the day for him. An easy fix so he’ll be back on Tuesday.
The last 4 races were all scratch and a lot of fun.
Derick Warne and I were tied on 13 points but with 4 race wins Derick took out the day. Well done. !!!!!!
Congrats to the place getters:
1st Derick Warne 13 points (on countback)
2nd Simon Kellett 13 points
3rd Tony Silver 21 points
4th Paul Golding 29 points
