Hi Skippers,
The rain cleared and the clouds even got burnt off by the sun giving us a really nice blue sky afternoon of IOM sailing for the 11 skippers at the lake.
The SE 5 – 12 knot breeze hinted that it was going to the east but flicked back to the SE for most for the afternoon. All 6 buoybots were used giving us a windward top mark and gate along with a bottom gate, 10 heats h’cap heats were conducted with a short break in the middle.
Derick Warne flew in late did 5 heats. Came 1st in two and 2nd in two then had to go . Bummer ! Paul Golding put in a very solid afternoon of sailing and managed to hold off the fleet to take the honors.
A special thanks goes to Geoff Morris and Bill Heritage for stopping their sailing to help our new skipper Graham Sargent get the feel of racing his new AKA IOM. Thanks guys for your help with a fellow clubman.
It was very close racing all afternoon with many tight finishes.
Congrats to the pace getters:
1st Paul Golding #36 26 points
2nd David Clifton -Dobing #12 28 points
3rd Greg McGill #62 36 points
