We currently sail four classes of radio controlled yachts :
- International One Metre class, known as an IOM. There are numerous designs of IOM, they are a restricted class with various rules the most important being they have to be no more than 1 metre long & weight no less than 4kgs. Second hand yachts sell from $1500+ , new yachts up to $7000+ for the latest design. We race IOMs on Tuesday & alternate Saturday afternoons, starting at 1pm. - RC Laser class. Lasers are a one design yacht, 1 metre in length. All boats being exactly the same size and weight. They only have a mainsail so are easier to rig and tune for race conditions. Second hand yachts usually sell for around $750, new boats cost $1500+. We race Lasers on Wednesday & Sunday mornings starting at 10am. Laser Co ordinator : Paul Golding 0407 893 596
- Dragonforce 65. DF65’s are a one design yacht, 650mm in length. Second hand yachts are rare, new boats cost around $300 ( one rig ) or $550 with 3 rigs. We race DF65’s on Tuesday & Saturday mornings starting at 9.30am. We introduced the DF65 in June 2023 & are rapidly growing with 8-10 boats on the water at any one time. they are well established around Australia & are the most popular RC Yacht in the world.Check out “DF65 INFO” on our main menu for further information on this class .DF65 Co ordinator : Mark Lewis 0424 787 884
- Dragonflite 95 . The big brother of the DF65 – the DF95 is 950mm long & weighs 2kgs. New yachts cost around $500 for the basic kit. Additional rigs approx $200.
