LASER OPEN INVITATIONAL held on 19th Feb 2022
What a day Lake Kawana and the weather Gods provided for us yesterday!
The breeze came in on cue (big sigh of relief) albeit a tad fluky, but then settled into a consistent Sth / S.E.’r , letting the fleet of 13 Lasers entered use their A, B and C rigs over the course of the day.
Neil Carroll ( Event RO ) and Derick Warne ( Event Organiser ) ran an excellently managed regatta with the assistance of our club volunteers, catering organised by Adele Pearce , and scorers Gwen Warne & Diane Lewis was greatly appreciated. (Ladies Thank you !)
Thanks to David Black , for processing the scores and recording the days sailing, Ian Lobley for your attendance and videos of the racing ( see YouTube links below ), thanks to all the volunteers ( SCRSC members) who assisted to make the day what it was.
The atmosphere throughout the days sailing was a credit to all the participants. Special thanks to our visiting sailors from Paradise Radio Yachting Club ( Peter, Nick & David ) who made the trip up from the Gold Coast and as far as Grafton for David Page (who bagged a medal) and to all the SCRSC members who entered and supported Laser Fleet Sailing at its best.
The score sheet of the race results sees a clear winner on the day, but I personally believe that everybody involved in making this regatta a highlight are the real winners.
