SCC SUPPORTS LASER 2022 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Many thanks to Councillor Peter Cox Div 3 & Sunshine Coast Council for their support at this weekends Laser 2022 Australian National Championships …very much appreciated. We have entrants from Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales & from a number of Queensland Clubs . Should be a highly competitive & very enjoyable.

New Launch Platform

Courtesy of the Sunshine Coast Council we now have a Launch platform – Division 3 Councillor Peter Cox officially opened the platform after one of our Tuesday race afternoons. Special thanks go to Sunshine Coast Councils engineer Joel Bradshaw for making it all happen. Not to mention our Committee Member John Halloran for his involvement in coordinating this with the Council – Great work.

KAWANA CLASSIC – 3rd Dec 2022

SCRSC are holding a Members Only One Day IOM regatta on 3rd December – The Kawana Classic starts at 9am until 4.30pm – Lunch & water provided – entry fee $10. Please see attached flyer for details.

RC LASER CHAMPIONSHIPS 2022 – Important Change

SCRSC have changed this Championships to a 2 Day Event – it will now be held on Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th November 2022. This has been done to increase Competitor numbers after receiving feedback from sailors that can’t attend the Friday session. Entry fee now $60. Apologies for any inconvenience concerned.

Another successful regatta at Lake Kawana over the weekend of 9th / 10th July – Winner was Paul Jones #48 Lake Macquarie RYC , followed by Greg Torpy #125 Eagleby RYC and Aaron Farrar #34 Gladstone RCYC… Local SCRSC members Doug Allen #72 4th, Gary McCarthy #18 6th, Derick Warne #97 8th. Great weekend of racing – thanks to all those who competed. Event organisers, RO & volunteers did a remarkable job.
