DF65 Club Scratch Morning – Tuesday 12th May

Hi skippers
The forecast obviously deterred people this morning with only 8 boats turning up & that included 2 visitors from Southern States.
The SE breeze reached 14 knots in the gusts not the 21 forecast and the rain stayed away. Our local 6 skippers all put on their B rigs – the visitors only had A rigs. One struggled & decided it was too windy for his rig & the other, Bill #78, preserved and managed to get around the course with careful sailing.
Results 🙂

Visitor Bill #78 was not included in the scores above but accumulated 39 points after 2 drops. #980 suffered a steering issue during race 2.

Highlight of the day was seeing the competition between the 5 home team boats – all getting at least one race win. Craig #370 won on 13 points closely followed by tugboat Phil #239 who decided that because it was his 59th birthday he would try & hit as many marks as he can in one day ! All very friendly & good to watch.
Next session : Saturday 16th DF65 Summer Scratch series.
Last call for entries to our fun filled Long Line DF65 regatta on 23rd May – 19 entries.
Cheers
